Process Automation

The equipment positioner CMSX-P-S which is described is for the purpose of controlling the position of double-acting pneumatic quarter turn actuators in the process automation systems. It is suitable for the operation of quarter turn actuators with a swivel angle of approximately 90° and a mechanical interface in accordance with the VDI/VDE Directive 3845. Positions of the devices are specified through a set point signal. The purpose of CMSX is to enables simple and efficient position control based on the PID control algorithm. Thus the integrated potentiometer senses the current position of the actuator through the shaft and then forwards the measured value to the internal regulator.

The process valve which is opened or closed is depends on the tubing connections between the CMSX-…-A and the quarter then turn into actuator. On the other product variant CMSX-…-C, working ports are 2 and 4 are pressurized to maintain current position of the quarter turn actuator.
